Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit

Anglers aged 12 years or older must have a Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit.

Anglers aged 13 years or older must have a Rod Fishing Licence.

Children aged 11 or under do not need a Rod Fishing Licence or a Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit, but must be supervised by a person aged over 18 who must have a licence and a permit as they will be responsible for observing these Conditions for Fishing.

You can only buy a Rod Fishing Licence from GOV.uk
Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free. You’ll still need to get a junior licence.

How do I get a Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit?
The easiest way to apply is using our online form below.

A paper application form can be posted to you upon request. All Jubilee Pond Fishing Permits last for 12 months (from 1 April to 31 March) and are not valid unless authorised by the Clerk to Gilberdyke Parish Council.

I live in Gilberdyke parish, can I get a permit?
Any resident of Gilberdyke parish aged 12 or over can obtain a Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit for free.

Your residency status will be checked by reference to the electoral register. If you are a resident of Gilberdyke parish but are not on the electoral register then you must submit an alternative proof of residency along with your application. A parent, carer or guardian of applicants under 18 can use their own details for verification.

I live outside Gilberdyke parish, can I get a permit?
Every year (from 1 April to 31 March), 50 Jubilee Pond Fishing Permits are available to non-residents on a first-come-first-served basis. A fee of £25 will be charged for all non-resident permits, with all income going directly back into improving the site. This fee is reduced on a pro-rata basis if you apply later in the year. The fee is waived completely for anyone under the age of 18 at the time of the application. There is an appeals process for those non-residents denied a permit, with all appeals to be heard by the full Parish Council.

    I, the applicant, confirm that I understand and will observe the General Rules and Conditions for Fishing at Jubilee Pond, Gilberdyke as outlined below:

    General Rules
    You must not access the water under any circumstances or you may be prosecuted.
    Please respect the residential nature of the site.
    All criminal acts and anti-social behaviour (such as excessive noise, playing loud music and alcohol consumption) will be reported to the Police.
    Cycling, skateboarding, rollerskating, rollerblading, use of motor vehicles, and the climbing of, or swinging from, trees is prohibited on this site.
    Please deposit all rubbish, used fishing equipment and food in the bins provided.
    Please treat the wildlife with respect. Anyone committing acts of cruelty will be prosecuted.
    Please abide by any instruction given by Parish Council staff.

    Conditions for Fishing
    The hours of fishing are sunrise to sunset.
    There is an upper limit of ten persons fishing at Jubilee Pond at any one time, with spaces allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
    You must not fish for pike between 1 April and 31 October.
    To protect the welfare and health of the fish please:
    - Do not use boilies, floating baits, braided lines, keep nets or hooks larger than size 10.
    - Use barbless hooks, landing nets, and disgorgers.
    - Use unhooking mats and fish aid when appropriate.
    Please return any fish that you catch to the water immediately.
    Your Rod Licence must be available for inspection upon request by an Environment Agency Bailiff.
    Your Jubilee Pond Fishing Permit must be available for inspection upon request by Parish Council staff.
    Do not allow your licence or permit to be used by anyone else.

    If you fail to observe any of these rules or conditions then your permit may be revoked.

    (a) Your information is securely stored at the Parish Council’s registered address above.
    (b) We keep the personal information that you have provided for the duration of the fishing permit’s validity. We will then dispose of your information by shredding any paper copies held and deleting electronic copies securely.

    - Your right to rectification: You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
